Brad Pitt appears as a real life hero during 'World War Z' filming, rescues an extra.

One of the world's most attractive man, the producer of Academy award wining "The Departed" Brad Pitt has proved a real life hero another time. This time he heroically rescued an extra during the shooting of his new film "World War Z" from being trampled.





As a report by The Scottish Sun, Pitt, who is staring as a United Nations employee in the zombie apocalypse film, was filming a scene in which 700 extras tear through George Square in Glasgow, Scotland, on Wednesday. During the scene, a woman fell down, putting herself in danger of being run over by her fellow extras. But Pitt, a real-life hero, swooped in and brought her to her feet.


"Lots of people hurt themselves, and Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped," a witness told the paper of the fleeing-from-zombies scene. "I don't think she could believe it when Brad picked her up. He didn't have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee.”


Other extras also received "bumps and scrapes" during the elaborate take. After a string of injuries occurred on set, filming was paused for a "safety talk," The Sun reported. The sci-fi thriller "World War Z" will be released in December 2012. Other film coming that year is "Cogan's Trade." He is also the producer of those films.

Emma's Monarchs, and a Spalsh of Verlaine

At the end of July, a young woman named Emma missed her train in Penn Station and had some time to kill. Her wait was shortened when I chanced upon her and asked about this lovely tattoo she had going on her left arm:




She explained the origins of this wonderful body art:

"I knew that I wanted a monarch. And I knew that I wanted it on my arm. And I knew that I wanted it coming out of a chrysalis ... I did a lot of research online and ... didn’t know who I wanted to get it done by and was just in San Diego for the day with my cousin. Pacific Beach, actually, and was ... shopping in Pacific Beach and walked into a tattoo parlor, just like 'Oh, let’s go look at tattoo parlors!' and was flipping through all the catalogs and it was like dragon, dragon, dragon. Samurai guy, samurai guy, samurai guy. And then opened one and it was just all these amazing beautiful naturescapes and just amazing detail and I immediately, right there was like, 'whoever this is, I want this person to do my tattoo'. And they were like, 'Hold on. She’s in the back' … her name is Rebecca Min and I basically came to her with the idea and was like, 'You’re the artist, so I want it hanging from a dead branch. I want the branch to be black and gray and I love monarchs.'




I have always loved monarchs for my whole life from when I was three. That’s one of my earliest memories, I found a monarch caterpillar with my great aunt and took it home from Wisconsin to, at the time, Chicago, in a jar with some milkweed and watched it spin a chrysalis and then hatch out of the chrysalis and then let it go and ever since then I’ve just loved monarchs …they’ve reminded me of the older women in my family, my grandmother, my great aunt.


It’s still a work in progress and she combined all these pictures, she put them together and I knew that I wanted the chrysalis to be empty, like it had just come out of the chrysalis, like a rebirth sort of thing and we both had the idea to make it translucent so that you could see the branch through the chrysalis...


 


We’ve been working on it for over a year and a half now, just bits and pieces , my longest session was three and a half hours and I had the idea to do a whole swarm from different perspectives and once we have all of those one, she’s going to pick a light source from one direction and do shadows….and she’s  gonna do moss on the branches, a white lichen."


The shop where Emma began to work with Rebecca Min was Chronic Tattoo. Emma says Rebecca has moved on to Eden Tattoo, although she is still listed as an artist on the Chronic website.


Emma also has these tattoos on her wrists:




The left wrist reads, "Les roses étaient toutes rouges et les lierres étaient tout noirs" which translates to "The roses were all red and ivy were all black."

The right wrist reads, "Voici des fruits, des fleurs, des feuilles et des branches" which translates to "Here are fruits, flowers, leaves and branches."
 

Emma elaborates:

They are the first two lines of the last two songs in a set called "Aria T'oublie" by Claude Debussy. The poetry is by Paul Verlaine. I was a classical voice major in college and I wanted to do the set for my senior recital and I am obviously not your normal opera singer and my voice teacher said, 'Okay, that’s fine you can do the set, except for the last two songs. They’re too hard for you.' And I said, 'Fuck you.' And I took a year off and did nothing but practice and did lessons and studied and performed the set and was, too my knowledge, the first undergraduate ever to perform the set in its entirety. And so this was my badge of honor. Now seven year later, eight years later and until I’m in my eighties, I can look down and read these first two lines and remember every single word in French to both of these songs.
I was in West Hollywood, I was 23 and had 50 bucks and was like 'who can do this for really cheap?' and I don’t remember what his name was but I do know that at the time he had a sprained wrist and he was like 'I’ll do it. I’ll do it cheap. But I can’t believe you’re making me tattoo in a foreign language, upside down, with a sprained wrist.'

Lady Gaga starts VMA with theatrics and then sang as Spear and Selena did

MTV"S Sunday night's Video Music Awards ceremony has seen some good performances as well some unexpected but funny occurrences like the one Lady Gaga  did. The Award ceremony starts with Lady Gaga delivering a long monologue casting her Male alter ego Jo Calderone as a jilted lover left behind by his famous ex. But it did not surprised but it wasn't the act that viewers might have been expecting. But it is Gaga, 25, and her career is littered with theatrics. More often than not, she's skirted the line between entertainment and controversy, but her cross-dressing bit as "Joe Calderone" was as tired and worn-out as the gratuitous guitar solos that clutter "You and I."



Dressed in drag as her male alter ego, she crossed with her VMA opening was the one that separated excess from eye-rolling. Her Calderone character came off as little more than an extra from "The Outsiders," or maybe she was just referencing MTV's "Jersey Shore," strutting around the stage with cigarette in hand and a tension-less monologue that was about nothing more than Gaga herself. "What's with the hair? At first it was sexy and now I'm just confused," Gaga as Calderone said to forced laughter, likely echoing many-a-viewer's thoughts.


Among other singers Britney Spears and Beyoncé onstage together; Gaga herself was backed by a legendary rock guitarist; Adele pitting a stripped-down stage show against the likes of surprise performers Jay-Z and Kanye West's pyrotechnics; and legendary grunge trio Nirvana name-checked by Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Chris Brown like it was 1991. It was totally a female night. This year Selena Gomez has experienced a new role as she interviewed the participants including her boyfriend Justin Bieber and enjoyed the show with different angle, off course she sang too.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Releases 'I'm With You,' on August 29 and heading to a promotion tour.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, 7 Grammy Award winner American rock band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1983, is going to release their new album today entitled, “I’m With You,” today August 29. This will be their first rock album that makes use of high-resolution source audio technology that optimizes the sound quality for iTunes Store customers. The earlier album released by them is "Stadium Aradium" five years ago.





To promote the new album the band will be performing the new songs, as well as some old hits, in a live performance that will be broadcast to select movie theaters around the world. The promotion will be worldwide too as they are going to start a world tour in September.



Critics are now pleased to see the work the band is doing. One such critic, Sarah Rodman of the Boston Globe said of the album, “With its blend of hard rock, funk, pop, punk, disco, psychedelia, and hip-hop, the album offers a few standouts, including the refreshingly bright and Beatles-evoking “Happiness Loves Company,” the sinuous “Did I Let You Know,” and the expansive “Brendan’s Death Song,” which moves from pastoral acoustic picking to percussive maelstrom.” Rodman also found that some of the vocals have a tendency to be “hit or miss” however added that in the end, “If you’ve come this far with the Peppers, you’re with them.”



Other albums that are going to be released by the artist and band like James Taylor,Lenny Kravitz, and the Spin Doctors.

Gowrish Shares His Blessing, Amma in Ink

There are times when I feel lucky to find a tattoo by an amazing artist and then there are times I find something that is so breathtaking, I feel honored to be able to share work by a true master of the craft.

Last week, I was walking down Crosby Street in SoHo when I met Gowrish after spotting a flash of color poking out of his short sleeve shirt. After he called the artist to make sure it was okay with her that I take pictures, Gowrish shared what I consider one of the finest tattoos I've ever posted on Tattoosday. "This is Amma, who is the Divine Mother and comes from India ... she's a great humanitarian leader and spiritual leader. She does a lot of good work. The 'Hugging Saint' they call her in the West...Denise [de la Cerda]  is amazing, one of the things is that it's really difficult to capture ...it's considered a great blessing  if you can have Amma's image like this ... Denise is very blessed because this is so real life that it's kind of unbelievable....

Paul Rudd is not an idiot in personal life at all as in "Our Idiot Brothers"

"Clueless," "Wet Hot American Summer," "Anchorman," "40 Year-Old-Virgin," "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers," star Paul Rudd, 42, is not an idiot in his personal life at all as we see in "Our Idiot Brothers." This actor and producer is one of the greatest of his kind especially comic in Hollywood. He is unafraid of embracing slightly dorky characters who make people laugh and have enjoyment.




In his new film, "Our Idiot Brother" opening on Friday, he embraces his inner hippie and shares the screen with three high-powered actresses (Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer) playing his neurotic New York sisters. His character -- the under-achieving, homeless, Croc-wearing brother Ned -- wreaks havoc in their lives. Rudd recently sat down with Reuters to talk about portraying the easy-going Ned, the joys of tie-dyed T-shirts and why he's not shy about kissing dogs.

He said whenever asked whether "Our Idiot Brothers" is a broad comedy, "Not at all. There's lots of drama. You hear the title and see the main character with his beard and long hair, but I don't think Ned's an idiot. He's a gentle soul, and makes some idiotic decisions -- there's no getting around that. But we wanted to make it very clear he's living his life a certain way, and it's a conscious decision. He has an ethic he subscribes too, and it's not always easy for him. The cracks show in some scenes, and that's important. You don't want it to look like he's just out to lunch."

Rashida Jones kissing Zooey Deschanel as a lesbian, advised by Natalie Portman

In "Our Idiot Brother" that hits the big screen on  Friday August 26, Rashida Jones plays the role of Cindy and she is a girlfriend of Zooey Deschanel, playing the role of Natalie. But they are lesbian and that earns mixed comments from various critics as Francisco Cronicle says it "really funny and true to life". Boston Globe even goes so far as to call it as, "emotionally bogus."


Leaving all this the "Park and Recreation" star Rashida Jones are advised by Natalie Portman about how skillfully a lesbian kiss can be given as she had experienced the lesbian kissing in "Black Swan."
"I'm friends with Natalie and I asked her [what to expect]," says Rashida. "She was like, 'Dude, it's awkward to make out with your friends - I'm just warning you right now. It's super awkward!"
"It was totally fun," says Rashida. "I mean, it was slightly awkward, only because Zooey and I have known each other for a long time. It's kind of weird to kiss your friends. But, you know, she's so pretty - she doesn't make it that hard!" "I should give [Zooey] a name, right?" adds Rashida. "I would just call her 'Softy.' She's soft... very soft."

Kareem's Tattoo is So Brooklyn....

Earlier this year, I met Kareem, one of the many inked employees at the Upper West Side Trader Joe's. I gave him my card when I spotted him in the aisles, and saw him on subsequent visits, but I generally won't trouble people while they're working.

Earlier this month, I spotted him on a break in nearby Verdi Square, and took the opportunity to snap a photo of this, one of his thirty (30!) tattoos:




I know the photo is a little small, but clicking on it will give you better detail.

It seemed appropriate, with much of the country focused on the northeast today as Hurricane Irene bears down (or is it up?) on us, that we celebrate Kareem (and my) borough.

Kareem explained:

"I came up with the idea of So Brooklyn ... I see a lot of people with a lot of just plain Brooklyn tattoos and I have yet to own a car, so I put the trains under it, as you can see, to represent my Brooklyn, and how I get around, far as the bridge and everything else. I took a lot of time to really design this tattoo and give it to my artist and it came out really well."
He credited an artist named Chia at Big Fish Tattoos in Jamaica, Queens. It should be noted that their MySpace page says that Big Fish is no longer in business.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith still together proving the seperation news false.

"Man in Black" star Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith are still together and it is confirmed through a number of sources. There was a rumour that they would go for a separation. InTouch Weekly confirmed the news on Monday August 22. Just a day after the news they were seen out in public smiling and laughing, and the Bieb even wrote about the happy couple on his Twitter page. And, the Bieb doesn't lie.  The 17-year-old star, who's friends with the couple's teen son Jaden, wrote on his page: "Will and Jada are one of the best couples ever. #FACT #real".




On the same day of the news being published TMZ contacted Jada's rep , who was sleeping at the time. She told the caller: "What? In Touch said that? I know nothing about this ... Lord. I'm going back to bed."


Later that day, Trey Smith, Will's 18-year old son from another marriage tweeted: "Did #WillandJada split? No they did NOT split! False information ... its not true RETWEET!!!" He went on to tweet eight more comments throughout the day promising they're very much still together with #ItsAllLies tacked on the end of each remark.


Eventually, Will and Jada released a strange joint statement, dispelling the rumors:  "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact." 


Even yesterday the couple was spotted out having a blast together and smiling for the cameras. Convincing, right? The rumour game is going round will, as a few months earlier he was rumored dead while shooting on a hill in New Zealand.

Snooki constantly tells something about Style 'Revolution,' Possible Clothing Line On Twitter

MTV reality show "Jersey Shore" 2009, star Nicole Elizabeth "Snooki" Polizzi, best known as Snooki constantly tweets about her amazing outfits, what she's doing that day, or-if we're lucky-fashion news! The above one is one of them. Last night Snooks hinted at something she called the "Guidette Book" in which she talks about her iconic look becoming a "style revolution," and said she'd release some mega news about it today (and also told us to "hold onto our bronzer." She added "My biggest nightmare is waking up pale. Or without eyelashes."




Well, OK, then! (Cue photoshopping and retoning. What if Snooki were PALE?!) After this horrendous thought, Snooks decided to have a impromptu Twitter Q&A session, thanks this rainy NYC afternoon. Of course we followed it oh-so-closely, and she dropped some mega style news!Snooky also tweets about her upcoming sunglasses, flip-flops, perfume and slippers.

Elizabeth Maresal Mitchell better known as Elizabeth Banks is passing an excellent year. The most exciting day she would ever remember is the birth of her son Felix via gestational host (surrogate) by her husband Max Handelman (2003–present), her her boyfriend since she met him on her first day at college, in March.




She is filming in the plum role of Effie Trinket in the "The Hunger Games," the most anticipated new franchise in the film industry directed by Gary Ross. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins and in the film she is co-stared by Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth etc.


The next she is starring in the role of Mirnda in the new neurotic comedy movie "Our Idiot Brother," released on August 26, with longtime pal and frequent co-star Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones and Emily Mortimer.


The last but not the least, she is is nominated for Emmy Award for her role as Avery Jessup in the television show "30 Rock" (2010-present) for the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. In an interview with PARADE, when asked about her contestant Tina Fey for the same category, she said about the nomination, “No, I forgot about that actually. I can't win my category. [My character Avery Jessup] has great lines and she truly is an amazing character so I'm very grateful, but I don't think I can win.”

It was released in Europe a month earlier on July 27 but on August 26 in America, the home of Hollywood. In this film this "Star Trek" actress is working against Michael Vartan.

It is a genre that is very geared towards males," she added. "And when a woman can do it and get away with it, and you don't compromise the violence that a film about revenge would entail, it's just sexy and edgy and has all heart, so I'm really proud of the movie."



She also worked in the role of Neytiri in James Cameron's "Avatar", the highest-grossing film of all time. A new film named "The Words" is coming in 2013.

Melissa Gilbert filed for divorce from husband Bruce Boxleitner for 'irreconcilable differences'.

The former president of Screen Actors Guild American actress, writer and producer Melissa Ellen Gilbert filed for the divorce from her husband fellow star and close witness and sharer of her joy and sorrow Bruce Boxleitner. The news comes one days after the news of her sister Sara Gilbert separation from her partner Allison Adler (2001-2011). It seems that the two sisters planned together but it's a co-incidence. Melissa Gilbert, 47, separated herself 7 months earlier (January 5, 2011) following their 16th birthday but officially filed for divorce in the Superior Court in Los Angeles on Monday August 22. The cause for the divorce is said to be irreconcilable differences between them. But nothing is heard from Boxleitner, 61.




Both Mellissa and Boxleitner had married before the marriage between them. Bo Brinkman (1988–1992) being her first husband, Kathryn Holcomb (1977–1987) is Boxleitner's former wife. They have a son Michael Boxleitner, 15, together who is demanded to be in joint legal and physical custody of Melissa. Though unsuccessful in keeping the marriage intact, she is successful in filming having acted in many movies and television series. The two famous TV series she works include "Little House on the Prairie" (1974-83) and "Babylon 5" (1996).

Emma Stone, beautiful and worth to marry, posted a video message by Jim Carrey.

The legendary "Mask" star Jim Carrey, 49, wondered if he 'were a lot younger,' he would marry Emma Stone. He posted a video 'ode to Emma Stone' expressing his love in his blog "TruLife". He says, “I just wanted to let you know that I think you’re all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but, you know, smart and kindhearted. If I were a lot younger, I would marry you and we would have chubby little freckle-faced kids. We’d laugh all day long and go camping, play Yahtzee, tell ghost stories by the fire. And the sex...”



Truly Emma Stone is worth to be loved and dreamed of. This 22 year-old talented actress has been nominated for Golden Globe Award for best actress in a musical or Comedy for the high school comedy "Easy A". She proved her excellence in "The Help" released this year and three more are coming in next two years (Movie 43 and The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 and The Croods in 2013).

Three Tattoos from Sabrina

I met Sabrina on Penn Plaza back in June after stopping to admire her tattoos. She has three and talked me through them chronologically.

She explained , "I like to get [a tattoo] for every place I lived," and her first one was this butterfly armband:




Sabrina is from upstate New York. She went to one of the shops in Utica and spoke to the owner about getting an armband. He dismissed her initial request, saying "I don't do armbands anymore, they're too 1990". So, Sabrina explained, "he designed a different sort of armband and went with that ... ".




She added, "I like butterflies because I like things that fly ... I feel like I'm a free spirit." One of the butterflies is based on a necklace that she wore every day.

Her second piece is on her right forearm and is what she referred to as her "college tattoo":




Sabrina told me, "I just wanted another tattoo and I like Egyptian hieroglyphs." This is one of the symbols that really appealed to her, and she had this inked at a shop in White Plains, New York, near where she went to college.

Her third tattoo, also inspired by hieroglyphs, is the one she got after coming to New York City:





This owl tattoo is more realistic, although she wanted it positioned like a hieroglyph. It is a great horned owl and was tattooed by Bang Bang at East Side Ink.

Zooey Deschanel And Rashida Jones made their co-stars laugh by their kissing scene.

'Elf' (2003) star Zooey Deschanel and current NBC comedy series 'Parks and Recreation' star Rashida Jones has recently surprised their male co-stars on-set and the audiences by the shooting of a kissing one another. It was a shooting scene of "Our Idiot brother," an American 2011 comedy film directed by Jesse Perez. At this the male co-star were laughing and reacting that Rashida told VH1 News, “The boys were so giggly on set…they loved it!”

On the other hand Zooey, 31, said on the red carpet of the LA premiere, “You get a girl on girl kiss and boys just get real excited!” Rashida, 35, is joking that she is perfecting herself or has already perfected in kissing job. She says, “I kissed so many girls just so I made sure I knew how to do it right.” Really it is a nice practice.

Hannah Dakota is going to attent New York University this fall.

Famous child actress in 'I Am Sam' in 2001 and 'The Twilight Saga' actress Hannah Dakota Fanning better known as Dakota Fanning is going to attend New York University this fall. Some of the student report the news at NYU Local. They discovered the news while they were having a look into NYU e-mails. This 17-year-old vet of "Charlotte's Web," "War of the Worlds," "The Runaways" and "Twilight Saga: Eclipse," and homecoming queen will join the class of 2015-ers.

Other celebs to have taken classes there in recent years include Haley Joel Osment and James Franco. NYU Local previously reported that Emma Watson had toured the school and thought that she would admit there leaving Brown University but she went Oxford instead.
